Jim Viadero is the Chief of Police for the Newtown, CT Police Department, a role he has held since 2016. From 1985 until 2014, Jim was command staff member, rising to the rank of Captain with the Bridgeport, CT Police Department. While at the Bridgeport Police, Jim served in roles that included Director of Training and the Director of Emergency Management. He served as police Chief in Middlebury, CT from 2014 to 2015.
Jim serves as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University, where he previously earned a Master in Criminal Justice degree. He was appointed as a member of the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Commission by the Governor of Connecticut in 2018.
